SeaLife chief Ahmed Moosa allowed to travel abroad
The case has drawn significant attention due to allegations surrounding the SeaLife Global housing project and its impact on affected parties.
Ahmed Moosa Mohamed, the Managing Director of SeaLife Global, has been granted bail for 14 days and permitted to travel abroad, according to a decision by the Criminal Court.
Ahmed Moosa, who is accused of obtaining large sums of money from individuals under the pretext of constructing flats, had previously fled the Maldives. This marks the third time since March that the Criminal Court has ruled on his release.
The decision to allow his travel was made during a hearing held on December 5, following his application for a review of an earlier order issued by the court on November 16.
The Criminal Court specified that Ahmed Moosa would be granted conditional bail for 14 days, effective from the date of his scheduled departure from the Maldives. The conditions for his release are to be determined by the court.
