The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) on Monday announced the appointment of Aiminath Namza as the Chairperson of Public Service Media (PSM) and Ibrahim Nasreen as its Managing Director.

The position of Managing Director became vacant following the resignation of Mohamed Saeed on Tuesday. PCB confirmed the appointments earlier on Monday.

Namza, who serves as the Deputy Minister of Local Government, will take on the role of Chairperson, while Nasreen assumes the position of Managing Director. Nasreen has been with PSM for nine years and previously headed the sales and marketing department.

Nasreen’s background:

  • Holds a degree in Service Innovation.

  • Joined PSM nine years ago.

  • Works as a part-time lecturer in several colleges in the Maldives.

Nasreen becomes the third person to hold the role of Managing Director at PSM during the current administration. His predecessors include Saeed and Zeena Zahir, a former journalist and member of the Broadcasting Commission, who resigned from the position in August.
