Maldives FM, India's new envoy discuss boosting relations

Khaleel expressed appreciation of the people and the government of Maldives to the government of India.

India's new high commissioner G Balasubramaniam paid a courtesy call on foreign minister Dr Abdulla Khaleel on Monday discussed ways to further strengthen relations between Maldives and India.

At the meeting held at the foreign ministry, Khaleel congratulated the high commissioner on presenting his credentials to President Mohamed Muizzu, and exchanged views on fostering the positive momentum in the Maldives-India partnership. Both sides explored avenues to further strengthen the robust ties between the two countries.

Highlighting the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, Khaleel expressed appreciation of the people and the government of Maldives to the government of India for the steadfast support extended to the Maldives over the years. 

Balasubramaniam thanked for the warm welcome, and expressed his keen interest and commitment in working closely to strengthen the existing close ties between the two countries.
