
Court releases 4 men accused of threatening landlord
While the PGO has accepted the case file, a decision on whether to pursue prosecution has not yet been made.
Four individuals arrested on 8 August for allegedly threatening the owner of a residence in Male’ have been released by the Criminal Court after being held in remand custody for one month.
The individuals were arrested in connection with an incident at an apartment in the Galore building, where they are accused of entering the premises and issuing threats to the homeowner. Those arrested were identified as:

The suspects were initially remanded for 15 days. The court extended the remand by another 15 days, which expired on Monday.
According to the Criminal Court, the case has been forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO). While the PGO has accepted the case file, a decision on whether to pursue prosecution has not yet been made.
Police requested the court to remand the individuals pending trial. However, the court ruled that there was insufficient evidence to justify continued detention.
