
Police to send Maalhos murder victim to India for post-mortem

The body of Abdul Rahman Adam, who was found dead in AA. Maalhos on Sunday, will be sent to India for a post-mortem examination on Monday, police said on Thursday.
Abdul Rahman sustained fatal injuries to his head and face while at home. He died while receiving treatment at the Maalhos Health Centre. His body has since been transferred to Malé, from where it will be sent to India for further examination.
According to police, the decision to conduct the post-mortem was made to establish the cause of death, gather evidence for the investigation, and enable further forensic analysis.
Residents of Maalhos have shared details of the circumstances surrounding the incident. According to individuals familiar with the case:

The victim and his wife were the only occupants in the house at the time of the incident.

The couple had been sleeping in separate rooms.

Abdul Rahman was reportedly attacked while lying on his side.

He was taken to the health centre by his wife and others.
It has also been reported locally that the victim was believed by some to be involved in black magic. The couple’s three children are not residing in the island.
As part of the investigation, police are currently monitoring movement into and out of the island. Searches are being conducted at multiple locations in Maalhos, and several individuals have been questioned. However, no arrests have been made so far in connection with the death.
