A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill President Mohamed Muizzu.
According to Maldives Police Service, the individual was taken into custody on Thursday under a court order for making death threats against the President on social media platforms.

The suspect has been identified as Maseeh Moosa of Malas, Th. Thimarafushi. Police confirmed that his mobile phone has been seized as part of the investigation.
The arrest follows President Muizzu’s recent public statement regarding the possible introduction of the death penalty for drug traffickers.
