Former Attorney General Ibrahim Riffath was produced before the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Thursday afternoon for questioning.
Riffath was questioned for about two hours as part of an inquiry involving members of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee formed in 2019. Several ministers who served in former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration have also been summoned in relation to the same matter.
Four former cabinet members have so far been summoned. Former Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer appeared before the ACC on Sunday, followed by former Economic Minister and MDP Chairman Fayyaz Ismail on Monday, and former Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali on Wednesday.
The ACC has not released details of the ongoing investigation.
