Speaker Mohamed Nasheed once again slammed President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Friday, alleging that his longtime friend and ally stopped speaking to him and started speaking out against him because some of his aides suggested that doing so would increase the president's "shine".
Nasheed who is currently in GDh. Thinadhooo to attend the closing ceremony of a diving training session made the remarks when asked by a reporter what led to the deteriorating relationship between the two.

The president was advised to stop talking to Nasheed and speak against him in order to increase his fame
Nasheed linked the remark to his allegation on Thursday that President Solih was trying to consolidate his power. Reiterating the allegation, Nasheed made an indirect reference Friday that President Solih had distanced himself from him in order to retain power.
