Maldives condemns Bondi Beach attack
The government expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished those injured a recovery.

The Maldivian government on Monday condemned the attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney that took place on Sunday.
According to authorities in Australia, at least 15 people were killed and more than 40 others were injured in the incident.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, the government expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished those injured a recovery.
“There is no place in society for such acts,” the statement said.
The Foreign Ministry said the Maldives stands with the Government of Australia during this period and reaffirmed its opposition to acts of violence and terrorism.
Australian media reports said two men were shot dead during the incident at the beach. The alleged attacker, aged 50, was shot and killed by police. His 24-year-old son sustained injuries and is receiving medical treatment.
