More than 30 homes in Feydhoo, Addu City, have been flooded and damaged following heavy rain affecting the southern atolls, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has said.

Flooding has been reported across islands in Addu, with local councils, the Maldives National Defence Force and police working together to drain water from affected areas.
According to the NDMA, more than 30 homes in Feydhoo have so far reported flooding and damage.
One house occupied by eight people, including two people requiring special assistance, became uninhabitable due to flooding, the authority said.
The NDMA said it was working with the local council to provide the family with temporary accommodation and other necessary assistance.
The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a yellow alert for the area covering the four southern atolls from 2pm to 6pm on Friday.
The Met Office forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms, with gusts of up to 45 miles per hour and rough seas during the alert period.
