Police unable to identify gender of body found near Kinolhas

According to police, the condition of the body did not allow for immediate identification.

The Maldives Police Service said on Monday that the body found off the coast of R. Kinolhas on Sunday evening was in a condition that made it impossible to determine the person’s sex or gender.

Police said they received a report at around 4:30pm on Sunday of a body floating at sea near the island.

According to police, the condition of the body did not allow for immediate identification.

Police said forensic samples are being collected and required procedures are ongoing as part of the investigation.
