MPL employee dies after falling between tugboats at Malé port

An employee of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) died on Thursday after falling between two tugboats at the commercial port of Malé.
Police said they received a report at 10:46 am that an MPL employee had fallen between two tugboats at the port and sustained injuries.
According to police, the man was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where doctors confirmed that he was already dead on arrival.
The deceased was identified as Ameen Abdul Hameed, 30, of Dhekonuge, GA. Dhavvadhoo.
Police said an investigation has been launched into the incident.
MPL said the employee collapsed and fell between the two tugboats after suffering a seizure while on duty.
