Police have advised road users to exercise caution when travelling on the highway linking the Sinamalé Bridge, Hulhulé and Hulhumalé, as repair work is scheduled to begin on Monday evening.
According to police, renovation of traffic lines on the Sinamalé Bridge highway will start on Monday night. The work will be carried out daily from 12am to 6am until it is completed.
Police said the work forms part of the Housing Development Corporation’s programme to improve road safety.
“Highway users are advised to exercise caution while this work is underway,” police said in a statement.
Motorists have also been asked to follow traffic instructions and observe any temporary changes to road markings during the repair period.
