A further draw to determine land plot allocations for recipients under the Binveriya housing scheme at Giraavaru Falhu was held on Saturday.

Authorities said the previously issued land use plan for Giraavaru Falhu had been revised, resulting in a reduction of 610 plots. A new land use plan has since been prepared and made public, providing for a total of 4,072 plots to be allocated.

As a result of the revised plan, plot sizes and numbers have changed. The draw held on Saturday was conducted to determine new plot allocations for individuals who had already been issued land under the scheme.

Under the revised arrangements, the draw was conducted by designated ministry officials. According to information released by the ministry, only one individual per plot was permitted to enter the lottery hall.

Those selected during the draw received their plot numbers immediately via SMS. The ministry said that once the draw process is completed, further information on land registration and agreements with landowners will be shared at a later stage.

The ministry also said that the land will be handed over to owners once clearance work has been completed.

Under the revised land use plan, the allocations at Giraavaru Falhu comprise 2,603 plots measuring 1,250 square feet, 1,214 plots measuring 1,650 square feet, 254 plots measuring 2,050 square feet, and one plot measuring 2,450 square feet.
