Esha Ashraf has been dismissed from her position as Senior Political Director at the Ministry of Higher Education.
The dismissal has circulated on social media and has been confirmed as an official decision.
In a letter signed by Ali Arif, the President said the dismissal was made under the powers vested in the office by the Constitution.
Prior to her appointment at the Ministry of Higher Education, Esha Ashraf served at the President’s Office.
Following the dismissal, Hassan Mufeed, Vice President of the People’s National Congress (PNC) in Addu, said in a Facebook post that he did not wish for any party member to be affected and expressed concern over the decision.
