Police recover MVR 231,000 in theft and robbery cases in Malé

Police said they will continue patrol operations to address crime and maintain public safety in Malé.

Maldives Police Service said it recovered MVR 231,000 linked to theft and robbery cases in Malé within the past 48 hours.

Assistant Commissioner of Police and police spokesperson Ahmed Shifan said on X that 11 people were taken into custody during police operations carried out over the two days.

According to Shifan, the recovered amount is linked to several theft and robbery cases reported in the city.

Police said they will continue patrol operations to address crime and maintain public safety in Malé.

Police statistics show that cases involving about MVR 86,800 were reported to Henveiru Police Station and Maafannu Police Station on the 9th and 10th of this month.

The figures also show that, through operations carried out by several police units including Galolhu Police Station, a total of MVR 231,000 connected to the cases was recovered during the period.
