The Malé City Council said interested parties may obtain information and submit bids through its procurement section.
An announcement was issued on Thursday inviting interested parties to undertake repair and maintenance work at Sinamalé and Malé Hiya apartment complexes for a period of one year.
The Malé City Council said interested parties may obtain information and submit bids through its procurement section.
The redevelopment of these sites into a new housing project was a pledge of President Mohamed Muizzu. The project had been approved during his tenure as Mayor of Malé City. The plan included providing new apartments to current residents and creating additional housing units.
Residents raised concerns about the condition of the buildings and infrastructure during a meeting held with the President in Galolhu last December.
Following these concerns, the government has decided to provide a financial grant of MVR 100,000 to residents as a relief measure. Authorities also plan to conduct an assessment to determine required repairs.
According to the council, an information session for the repair and maintenance work will be held on Wednesday, September 25 at 11:00am, with bid submissions closing on Sunday, October 5 at 11:00am. The sessions will take place at the Malé City Council Hall.
Participation in the bidding process is limited to Maldivian companies, partnerships, local investments and registered business entities.
A separate announcement has also been issued seeking contractors for the servicing, repair and maintenance of elevators in Sinamalé 3, Sinamalé 4, and Malé Hiya 1 and 2.
The information session for this work is scheduled for Thursday, September 26 at 10:00am, with bid submissions closing on Sunday, October 5 at 10:00am.
