Taxis will be permitted to pick up and drop off passengers near Terminal 2 at Velana International Airport (VIA), following changes to traffic arrangements announced by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
MACL stated on Wednesday that the adjustments were introduced to improve access for passengers using Terminal 2.
According to MACL, the area between the arrivals section and the roundabout at Terminal 2 has been designated for passenger drop-off. This area can accommodate up to four taxis at a time.
The area between the roundabout and the departures section of Terminal 2 has been allocated for taxi pick-up, with space for up to five taxis.
MACL said its staff will oversee traffic management and guide drivers on the revised arrangements.
The changes follow feedback from domestic passengers after the opening of Terminal 1, when taxi queues were relocated. MACL stated that the revised traffic plan aims to address these concerns.
