Handover of Hulhumalé Phase 3 plots begins
The ministry said the handover process will continue as agreements are signed.
The handover of land plots allocated under the ‘Binveriya’ scheme in Hulhumalé Phase 3 began on Thursday.
The process follows revisions to the Land Use Plan for the area, which resulted in changes to plot locations. A re-draw of lots was conducted in December to assign new plot numbers and locations for beneficiaries.
The Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development stated that agreements have been signed with 337 beneficiaries to date. Of these, 15 individuals received physical possession of their plots after boundary demarcation was completed.
The ministry said the handover process will continue as agreements are signed.
A total of 698 plots will be issued from Hulhumalé Phase 3. The plots are distributed across different sizes, including 181 plots of 1,650 square feet, 242 plots of 2,050 square feet, 132 plots of 2,450 square feet, 62 plots of 2,850 square feet, 41 plots of 3,250 square feet, 16 plots of 3,650 square feet, and 24 plots of 4,000 square feet.
