Parts of Rasfannu closed for renovation work
Areas where work is being carried out will be temporarily closed during the project period.
The Ministry of Infrastructure Maldives has announced the closure of parts of Rasfannu in Malé to facilitate renovation work.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said renovation work commenced from the previous day. Areas where work is being carried out will be temporarily closed during the project period.
Rasfannu falls under the jurisdiction of the Malé City Council. The area has undergone renovation in the past following concerns over the condition of its facilities.
In February last year, President Mohamed Muizzu stated that Rasfannu and Sultan Park required restoration. He also noted plans to redevelop both locations.
Rasfannu and Sultan Park were developed during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen, when Muizzu served as Minister of Housing.
