Man's condition still critical after custodial suicide attempt
Faisal tried to commit suicide in the cell where he was lodged around 11.15pm on Monday
Condition of a man rushed to hospital after trying to commit suicide while in custody for allegedly allegedly murdering his wife in HDh. Nolhivaram has not improved, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi hospital said Thursday.
Abu Bakr Faisal, 32, from Fenfushi island had been remanded for 15 days under a court order. He was kept in a cell at the police station in HDh. Kulhudhuffushi.
In a message to the media Tuesday morning, the police said:

He was rushed to Kulhudhuffushi hospital where he is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit

Police said that the human rights commission and and the integrity commission will look into the matter
Kulhudhuffushi Hospital spokesman Mohamed Moosa told Atoll Times on Thursday that Faisal's condition is still critical.
A reliable source confirmed to Atoll Times that Faisal is currently on ventilator support and doctors have now given up hope on his recovery.
Nishama, 28, was reported dead to the police around 12.30pm on Saturday. In connection with her death, Faisal Abubakr, 32, Rosyvilla/ADh. Fenfushi was arrested.
Faisal is Nishama's husband. He went to Kulhudhuffushi police station on his own.
Atoll Times understands that Nishama's body was brought to Male from HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Sunday evening. Her body is currently at Galolhu mortuary.
While Faisal is accused of the murder, Nishama's family members and neighbours who spoke to Atoll Times, as well as the people who of Fenfushi, say that he abuses his wife a lot.
