Aminath Shiruna has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Protection Agency.
The position became vacant after former CEO Heena Waleed was appointed to the cabinet last month.
Before this appointment, Shiruna served as a State Minister at the Health Ministry.
The Ministry of Health announced the appointment in a social media post on Monday.
The National Social Protection Agency was previously administered under the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services.
Following recent changes to ministerial mandates, responsibility for social protection has been transferred to the Ministry of Health.
