Mohamed Ramiz, a former member of the People's Majlis and participant in the Special Majlis convened to draft the Constitution, died on Saturday at the age of 74.
Family members said the funeral prayer will be held at the Islamic Centre after Asr prayer on Saturday afternoon.
Members of the public will be able to pay their respects from 11:00am.
Ramiz previously represented the Villingili constituency in Parliament.
He also served as Vice President of the Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP), founded by former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
In addition to his political career, Ramiz was involved in the tourism and business sectors in the Maldives.
President Mohamed Muizzu extended condolences to Ramiz’s family following news of his death.
