5 injured in speedboat collision at sea
Police said the second vessel left the scene without stopping after the collision.
Five people were injured in a speedboat collision at sea on Thursday night, according to the Maldives Police Service.
Police said they received a report at around 9:16 p.m. that a speedboat identified as Legion 1 had arrived near Izzudheen Jetty in Malé following the incident.
Based on preliminary information, the accident involved a collision between two vessels. Police said the second vessel left the scene without stopping after the collision.
The five injured were taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.
According to police, those injured include four expatriate men and one Maldivian man.
Police said the incident is under investigation.
