5 charged over MVR 3.9 million theft at Nalahiya Residence

The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has filed criminal charges against five individuals in connection with the theft of MVR 3.9 million from an apartment at M. Nalahiya Residence.
The PGO said the case was submitted to the Criminal Court on 25 June.
The incident occurred on 15 March at around 9:02 p.m., when two safes inside the apartment were broken into and MVR 3.9 million was stolen.
The PGO has asked the court to order the defendants to return the stolen money.
Charges of theft under Section 211(a) of the Penal Code have been filed against:

In addition, Ahmed Faris, Jazeel Mohamed and Mohamed Noor Ahmed have each been charged with trespassing under Section 230(a) of the Penal Code and criminal damage to property under Section 220(a).
