2 missing after landing craft capsizes near Gaafaru
Eight of those on board have been rescued or accounted for, while search operations are continuing for two expatriates who remain missing.

Two people are missing after a landing craft travelling from K. Thilafushi capsized near K. Gaafaru on Friday morning, police said.
According to the Maldives Police Service, a report was received at 8:48 a.m. that a landing craft was taking on water and sinking near Gaafaru.
Police said there were 10 people on board the vessel at the time of the incident, including eight expatriates and two Maldivians.
Eight of those on board have been rescued or accounted for, while search operations are continuing for two expatriates who remain missing.
The incident occurred as adverse weather conditions affected parts of the country.
Earlier on Friday, a liveaboard safari vessel ran aground on the reef off K. Maafushi after dragging its anchor. No injuries were reported in that incident.
The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has warned that strong winds and squally weather are expected to continue across parts of the Maldives on Friday and Saturday.
A Yellow Weather Alert remains in effect from Haa Alif Atoll to Faafu Atoll. Under the alert, average wind speeds are forecast to range between 25 and 30 mph, with gusts of up to 50 mph during squalls.
MET has advised the public, particularly seafarers, to exercise caution and monitor the latest weather updates.
