A court has remanded a 35-year-old man in custody for 15 days in connection with a suspected drink-driving incident in Fuvahmulah on Saturday.
Police identified the man as Ahmed Aunullah, 35, of Misky Magu, Andhaaz.
The accident occurred at 6:22pm when a car crashed into a motorcycle in front of Moodige in Fuvahmulah. The car then continued driving and collided with another car and a palm tree.
Police said their investigation so far indicates that the driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Police also said the incident followed an assault and threats made against the owner of the car.
