A video circulating on social media shows the fuel-carrying vessel drifting before striking the bridge.

It is not yet clear whether the bridge or the vessel sustained any damage in the incident.

The video also shows Maldives National Defence Force Coast Guard personnel responding at the scene.

The MNDF and Maldives Police Service have not yet released any information about the incident.
