The President’s Office announced the appointments on Monday.
Tholal was appointed Principal Secretary to the President for Tertiary Health Services, while Habeeb was appointed Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto.

He has also served as a Senior Curriculum Developer at the Education Development Centre and held the posts of Assistant Director General and Director General at the Elections Commission.
Tholal has additionally served as a Technical Adviser at the Youth Ministry and as a Deputy Minister at the Home Ministry.

Before his latest appointment, he served as a General Manager at Villa Air. He has also worked as a manager at Villa Hakatha and as Deputy Manager of Kaadedhdhoo Airport.
Habeeb’s appointment comes on the same day Abdulla Nazim resigned from his position as Policy Secretary at the President’s Office.
Government spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef told Dhauru that he was not aware of the specific reason for Nazim’s resignation. However, he said Nazim stepped down after a decision was made to change the administrative structure of the President’s Office and that Nazim had been informed of the planned changes.
