2 arrested over alleged indecent act on Hiyaa flat balcony

Police have arrested two people over an alleged indecent act on the balcony of an apartment at the Hiyaa towers in Hulhumalé.
Videos showing two people allegedly engaging in the act on an apartment balcony during the daytime circulated on social media earlier this month.
The incident took place in view of the surrounding area, prompting criticism on social media, particularly as the Hiyaa towers are home to a large number of families, including children.
Police said on Friday that a 36-year-old Maldivian man and a 25-year-old Maldivian woman had been arrested under court orders in connection with the case.
The court has remanded both suspects for five days.
Police said the case remains under investigation.
