The Criminal Court has ordered a 21-year-old man arrested in connection with a motorcycle collision on Sosun Magu in Malé last month to remain in custody until the conclusion of his trial.
The accident occurred in the early hours of 20 September when two motorcycles collided, leaving three people with injuries of varying severity.
Those injured were two Maldivian men aged 21 and 22 and a 26-year-old Maldivian woman.
Police said on Thursday that the 21-year-old suspect was presented before the Criminal Court for a second remand hearing, during which the court ordered his detention until the end of the trial.
The suspect was riding one of the two motorcycles involved in the collision.
Police had previously disclosed that the man did not hold a valid licence to operate a motor vehicle.
Authorities have not provided further details about the condition of those injured or the specific charges being pursued in connection with the accident.
