MTCC has announced trials of direct payments to bus service from debit and credit cards.
MTCC has decided to conduct a trial to prepare for opening up the facility to those who want to pay for the bus using Master and VISA cards.

During this period, bus services provided in the capital can be paid using Master and VISA contactless cards

Bus services in Male are charged MVR 7 per trip
At present, passengers can use bus cards as well as online tickets to pay for bus services offered by MTCC in the Male area. The online tickets are available through the RTL application.
Although the company is set to start trials using contactless cash cards for bus services in Male, the company has not yet announced when it will be launched on buses to Hulhumale and airport.
