9 arrested in Rasdhoo drug production and trafficking operation

Police have arrested nine people on AA. Rasdhoo on suspicion of manufacturing and trafficking drugs following an operation in which officers searched 10 houses and discovered equipment believed to be used in the production of drugs and alcohol.
The operation was conducted on Saturday by the Drug Enforcement Department, Counter Narcotics Intelligence and AA. Atoll Police.
Police said officers searched 10 residential properties on Rasdhoo and recovered equipment suspected of being used to manufacture drugs and alcohol.
Those arrested include eight Maldivians and one Bangladeshi national. The suspects comprise eight men and one woman.
The court has ordered the suspects to be remanded for periods ranging from three to 10 days.

Police said investigations into the suspected drug manufacturing and trafficking activities were continuing.
Authorities have not disclosed the quantities or types of suspected drugs recovered during the operation.
The nine individuals remain suspects, and the allegations against them have not been established in court.
