One of the prisoners was injured in a clash among inmates at Maafushi Prison Saturday.

In a message to the media, the police said they received a report of the assault Saturday afternoon.

Police said:

There were no major injuries other than a fracture in the mouth of an inmate during the clash
The use of a sharp object has not been ascertained so far

The police are investigating the matter.
