A court on Wednesday remanded a man arrested in connection with a case in which a woman was beaten and dragged on a road in GDh. Madaveli.
The 33-year-old man from Madaveli was arrested on Tuesday for assaulting the woman who is not a resident of Madaveli.
Police in a message to the media on Wednesday evening said that the accused was produced before the Madaveli Magistrate Court, which remanded him in custody till the end of the trial.
On Tuesday, a video of the man assaulting the woman went viral.

Some people present at the spot where the woman was assaulted did not stop the attack or intervene, but went on videographing it. This drew a lot of public criticism on twitter.
It is learnt that the woman seen assaulted in the video is from Raa atoll, who was visiting Madaveli. The 30-year-old has four children, all of whom are in the custody of the Gender Ministry. The woman had gone to Madaveli to marry the man who had attacked her.
