MNP hands over presidential ticket to Nazim; launches campaign
Nazim was assured of the presidential ticket without any competition or an election.

Maldives National Party (MNP) on Friday launched their presidential campaign by handing over the party's ticket to party president Mohamed Nazim.
The Dhangethi MP was handed over the party's presidential ticket at a function held at Artificial Beach on Friday evening.
The presidential ticket handed over to Nazim was prepared in the form of a shield with MNP colours.
It was accompanied by the launch of his presidential campaign with the theme of 'Ujjala Zamaan’, meaning a bright era.
Nazim won MNP's presidential ticket uncontested.
Filing of nominations for the September 9 election will run from July 23 to August 3.
Apart from Nazim, other prolific politicians contesting the upcoming presidential elections are:
