Committee green-lights all cabinet appointments
The committee approved all the ministers after an informal agreement was reached after a 10-minute break.

The Government Accountability Committee of the Parliament on Saturday approved all the ministers in the Cabinet of President Mohammed Muizzu.
The committee meeting on ministerial approval held on Saturday passed a resolution approving all of President Muizzu's ministers as requested by members belonging to the government, with two members belonging to The Democrats voting in favour as well. MDP members did not vote in favour.
The ruling coalition's MNP Vice-President, Thimarafushi Constituency Member Abdullah Riyaz moved a vote in favor of all the ministers.
Riyaz's motion was supported by The Democrats' Hithadhoo Central Constituency Member Ahmed Rasheed.
The motion passed with a vote of five committee members, including Riyaz and Ahmed Rasheed. Others that voted for:

The four MDP members on the committee at the time did not participate in the vote. The speaker asked who would vote against, the MDP members did not participate in the vote. These include:

Thorig moved that all ministers be seen to be approved; however, four members voted against the motion

Manadhoo MP Ahmed Haroon's motion to ask the committee to approve each minister separately was not supported
Saturday's committee also shared a complaint filed by a member of the public against Attorney General Ahmed Usham and Gender Minister Aishath Shiham.
The letter submitted by Ibrahim Ismail, chairman of the constitution drafting committee and head of Mandhoo College, was not discussed at the meeting. Instead, the spirit of the entire committee on Saturday was to decide on the approval of ministers without further ado.
