Maldives says 40% of India funded bridge complete
In the previous government, the work went behind schedule at first.

The Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure has said that 40% of the Thilamale bridge, which connects Male to Thilafushi, has been completed.
The Ministry's State Minister Mohammed Thoam Ibrahim said in an X post on Thursday that 40.47% of the work of the Thimalale Bridge has been completed.
According to him, 29% of the bridge was completed by November last year. In addition:

The first segment of the precast segment to connect the pillars of the bridge has begun

The Construction Ministry had earlier said the bridge would be completed by September 2026.
The Thilamale Bridge project is being implemented with a loan from Exim Bank of India. The work is being carried out by India's Afcons.
