After MDP failed to win a single seat, the party's chairperson and former economic minister took to X to congratulate the hard work and effort of its candidates.
"There's no need to be too disappointed by the result due to the low voter turnout," Fayyaz said insisting that the current efforts to overhaul the structure of the party would yield success in the future.
According to the elections commission, only 3,528 people voted in Saturday's bi-election out of the 13,112 eligible, which amounts to just 26.91 percent voter turnout.
