China issues guidelines to promote consumption of services

China will also strengthen market regulation and improve standards for service products, it added.

SHANGHAI, Aug 3 (Reuters) - China's state council on Saturday issued guidelines to promote consumption of services such as catering, housekeeping and nursery services for the aged and toddlers.

Culture and entertainment such as movies and sports events are among the sectors to be encouraged by the government as it seeks to stimulate consumption, according to a government statement.
