MIFCO chair Shareef transferred to fisheries marketing company
MFOMPC was established in February with the objective of promoting the fishing industry in the Maldives.

Government on Monday appointed Ahmed Shareef as the chairman of the Maldives Fisheries and Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation (MFOMPC).
Shareef previously served as the chairman of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO).
The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) announced that Shareef has been removed from MIFCO’s board and assigned as the chairman of MFOMPC.
MFOMPC was established in February with the objective of promoting the fishing industry in the Maldives. The board members for the corporation were appointed in May and include:

The corporation aims to increase the profitability of fisheries products, including aquaculture, mariculture, and other marine resources. MFOMPC also plans to develop a specialised brand for Maldivian products to market them as premium offerings in the Maldives and international markets.
