Ahmed Shafeeu, the State Minister for Higher Education, has been appointed as the Chairman of Island Aviation Services (IAS), the operator of Maldives' national airline, Maldivian.
Shafeeu previously served as Chairman of IAS during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen. He held this position from January 2014 until November 2018.
In December 2023, Shafeeu was appointed as the State Minister of Higher Education. His prior roles include serving as the Minister of Fisheries in the administration of former President Mohamed Waheed from 2012 to 2013. He also served as the State Minister of Education during the Yameen administration.
