Thoriq Ibrahim, who was appointed as the Minister of Tourism and Environment, stated that he would focus on strengthening collaboration between the two sectors following the recent merger of the ministries.
The appointment follows the dismissal of former Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal and the decision to consolidate the Tourism Ministry with the Environment Ministry.
Speaking to state media PSM, Thoriq stated that the tourism and environment sectors could function effectively together under a unified approach.
"I will work to improve the current efforts in both sectors and aim to develop tourism in a way that benefits all stakeholders," he said.
The minister further noted that the integration of tourism and environmental initiatives would facilitate coordinated efforts on key issues.
