
MTCC to procure electric vehicles for govt taxi service
They will come with a three-year warranty, and the first batch is expected to be delivered before the end of July.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced plans to procure electric vehicles and charging equipment for the government taxi service.
The agreement to award the operation of the government taxi service to MTCC was signed on 12 February. Under the agreement, the service will be provided using electric vehicles.
MTCC has invited expressions of interest for the supply of electric vehicles and charging systems. Interested parties can submit their proposals until 6 pm on 9 March.
The scope of work includes:

Supplying electric vehicles and setting up the charging system

Delivering the vehicles within three months

Installing and operationalising the charging infrastructure

Conducting related training and handling documentation

Providing maintenance services
