The government has announced the completion of the airport in M. Muli, with a test flight successfully landing on Friday.
According to the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure, the airport—constructed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)—is now fully completed. The project began in 2022 and was carried out over a three-year period.
A Maldivian Airlines aircraft landed at the airport on Friday as part of the test flight operations.
The government had previously stated that the Muli Airport is being developed for domestic air travel. The facility includes a 1,200-metre-long and 30-metre-wide runway.
The total cost of the project is MVR 221 million.
