Silver Sands celebrates 25 years of marine excellence
Silver Sands, the first company to start the total solutions concept in Maldives, currently operates in 20 locations across the country.
Silver Sands, a leading dive, water sports, and excursions company, has marked its 25th anniversary with a special ceremony held at Kurumba Maldives. The event brought together the company’s owners, employees, partners, and clients to commemorate a milestone in its journey.
As part of the celebrations, 14 employees who have served Silver Sands for 15 years were recognised and presented with awards for their dedication.
Speaking at the event, Managing Director Hussain Thaufeeq Ali expressed his appreciation to the team and partners who have supported the company over the years. He noted that Silver Sands began with just one employee and has now grown to a team of over 500.

A Journey of Growth and Diversification
Established in 2000 as an inbound travel agency, Silver Sands has grown into a multifaceted company offering a wide range of marine and leisure services. Through its dedicated arms – Silver Sands Diving and Water Sports – the company now manages 14 centres in 16 luxury resorts across Maldives.

In 2008, Silver Sands opened its own shipyard in Thilafushi, initially to maintain its fleet of vessels. The facility now also offers maintenance services to other operators.
To support its marine activities, the company launched Sea Gear, a brand offering high-quality diving, water sports, and boating equipment. Expanding beyond the marine industry, Silver Sands also introduced EVO Home, providing high quality creative interior solutions to meet the needs in interior planning and designing.
Over the past 25 years, Silver Sands has introduced thousands of visitors to the marine wonders of Maldives. Looking ahead, the company is focused on integrating new technologies and strengthening its commitment to environmental conservation as it continues to enhance its services and experiences.
