A fisherman has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO).
President Mohamed Muizzu had previously pledged to appoint individuals from the fishing community to the board to strengthen their participation in the company’s operations. MIFCO had also announced the recruitment of fishermen representatives to the board.
The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB), which oversees state-owned enterprises, announced the appointment of Rishaam Mohamed Shareef of Rihiveli, Gdh. Thinadhoo to the MIFCO board.

Former Brigadier General Farhath Shaheer was appointed as MIFCO’s Managing Director earlier this year. Other members of the board include Salah Shareef, Shazna Mohamed, Zulaiha Yoomi Rasheed, and Shimaz.
