The board of directors of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has appointed former MP Jameel Usman as a board member.
The MACL board was restructured in October. During that process, board member Mohamed Riyaz, known as “Let’s Go Riyaz,” was removed, and the number of board members was increased from seven to nine.
The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) announced on Sunday that Jameel Usman has been appointed to the MACL board. Usman previously served in Parliament as a PPM member and contested again in this year’s parliamentary election, but was not elected.

MACL has also recently established a subsidiary, Peninsula Infrastructure, to carry out land reclamation and certain government projects.
