Commodity prices flat in November as inflation records annual rise

Commodity prices remained unchanged in November compared to October, according to data released by the Bureau of Statistics.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures for November showed no month-on-month change in commodity prices. However, inflation increased by 1.36 per cent in November 2025 compared to the same month in 2024.
The data showed that the highest price increase over the year was recorded in tobacco and smoking products, which rose by 18.68 per cent.
Fish prices recorded the next highest increase, rising by 8 per cent during the same period.
Other year-on-year price movements included a 5.59 per cent increase in restaurant and accommodation services, while food prices rose by 3.73 per cent. Prices in the personal care category, including cosmetics and related items, increased by 2.59 per cent.
In contrast, prices for water, electricity, gas and housing declined by 2.89 per cent in November compared to November 2024. Clothing and footwear prices also fell, recording a decrease of 0.15 per cent over the period.
