The Civil Court has ordered Beond-Simdi Operations Pvt Ltd to pay $16,160 to an Italian national after the airline failed to refund cancelled tickets.

Silvio Pinto filed the case against Beond-Simdi Operations, which operates Beond Airlines in Maldives. He told the court that he had purchased six tickets from the airline and later cancelled them in line with the company’s refund policy.

According to the court ruling delivered Tuesday, Pinto sought payment of $14,000 as a ticket refund and $2,160 to cover court costs.

Court records show that Beond did not contest the claim, and the matter was decided without a further hearing.

In its judgment, the Civil Court ordered the company to pay the refund and $2,160 in legal costs within seven days.
